Started design considerations for an experimental vacuum chamber that accidentally also is a foundation for our sputter coater.  Here's a very early mock:

In the section view:

  * **(1)** — Base plate has 3 ISO-K DN63 flange patterns
    * **(2)** — We can attach a [[https://www.vacuum-shop.com/shop/de_DE/category/2073101/product/320rrk06302563/uebergangsstueck-konisch-edelstahl-1-4301-304.html|ISO-K DN63 to KF DN25 adapter]] to these holes for the vacuum equipment
    * The other ones get closed with blind plates where we can feed through electrical or mechanical connections
  * **(3)** — Inside the chamber we install a raised platform with a mounting grid; we can install arbitrary equipment on there. Where needed, we make bigger cutouts into this platform for feedthroughs from below
  * **(4)** — The lid has an ISO-K DN100 flange pattern for a viewing window.
