Photonic Computing

This is currently not a full fledged project and won't be for quite some time. This is more of a note-keeping thing for me, so that I don't Spam our matrix with youtube videos. To make this work, we basically need Ebeam Litography+a CMOS procedure at the ready

WHAT

Photonic Computing is basically the idea to recreate logic gates based on lasers, instead of light. A good intro talk is for instance this here: Photonic ICs, Silicon Photonics & Programmable Photonics - HandheldOCT webinar This can be FAST, they assume that they can do multiple Terrahertz with this technique.

WHY

  1. Its cool
  2. Bleeding Edge
  3. Can be done with “bigger” processes
  4. Laz0rs
  5. Its seems that its doable with a E-Beam-Lithography Process with nice results: In-memory computing on a photonic platform
